Mid Year 2018

Hi, hello, hey! Welcome back to our story.

It’s almost mid year 2018. It’s amazing to reflect on events in life.  To think yesterday is history. It can not be changed. You look towards tomorrow but that’s the future. You live in the present, today, but barely notice what you do... what you say, what you choose, what you don’t choose, this all affects tomorrow.

For us, sometimes it feels like we are living two lives. The one we left behind or put on hold in the States, and the one we are living here in China. We stay in touch but it’s not the same. We really do miss all of you. But, we love our life in China as well. Sometimes it feels like we are cheating on the other. Finding that perfect balance is hard.  We’ve had coworkers and friends leave recently. In a way, it’s very sad.. We wish them the best of luck in their new journey. The adventures of life.

Half of 2018 is gone. Soon it will be 2019.  We are still figuring out our next adventure.
We’ve never been one for the easy path. We accepted Sr. Teacher positions at our school. So we’ve been very busy with that added responsibility plus prepping for summer intensives. We still have our eye on the prize. Our goal for 2019  is to travel around Europe and then come home. HOME. Home to the States, to America....to where our hearts have been and will always be. With family.

We’ve been doing really well with our goals for 2018. Hit the gym hard and save money. We go to the gym about 5 days a week. Plus, we are active ESL teachers so getting in 10,000 to 11,000 steps from teaching on the weekends is easy.

Now saving  money isn’t as easy as going to the gym. But, we are both frugal  people. We understand money doesn’t buy happiness, but it sure helps you find it!! There’s no real set amount for how much we’d like to save. We want to have enough to travel and then enough to live on while we find work once we return home. Those pesky student loans that we are still paying off aren’t helping us reach our goals.

We’ve managed to finally make our way to Shanghai Disney. OMG! It was so busy. We’ve also seen our first English movie in China. Haha! We are still getting about and doing things. Our Chinese friend joins us at the gym now. It’s fun having someone else to work out with.
