May 2018
Hello friends and family!
It's officially May. Happy Mothers' Day! Happy Birthday to my brother in law, Neil.
It's been warming up here in China. Summer is definitely on its way. We have a feeling it'll be another hot one.
We've picked up our Europe research. We have 8 months left on our contract with Shane English School Changzhou. We've been doing a good job of saving money. We still have a few more grand to save, but are on target to make our goal.
This journey has been.....a journey! I wish I could say it was full of enlightenment or we are brand new people. But, the fact is, we are still us. I believe we no longer take many things for granted. As Kristin will point out, Western toliet and toliet paper! haha.
Besides the cultural differences, and being a minority, one thing we appreciate are Teachers. It's a humbling job. A big shout out to all the licensed teachers doing this in the public education system. We never saw ourselves as teachers. Trainers and mentors sure. As you can see, lots of personal growth over the last 17 months.
We are ready to keep moving forward. Experience European culture. New foods. Learn some phrases of a new language. But, we have started thinking out the reintegration to America. What kind of jobs will be available? Where do we want to live and work? Should we continue staying in FL?
This "problem" is a good problem..The world really is our oyster! Anything is possible..
