Happy Birthday Matt

Friends and family, good day! Today, May 17th, is Matt’s birthday! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! To show their love for Matt, Nico and Lucy took us to see the Avengers movie in 3D. I give the movie a 7/10. It was okay. This was our first movie in China. And to those who are wondering, YES the movie is in English. It had Chinese subtitles for the Chinese people.

Bye bye Lis!

Hello everyone! After (another) year in China, Lis is moving back home. She has been in China for a total of 3 or so years. For the past year we’ve spent with her, she’s been a cool chick. She will definitely be missed at Shane and around Changzhou. Over the year and a half that we have been in Changzhou, we have seen over 15 people leave. Not all of these people were coworkers. Some were very influential friends. Nonetheless, it’s hard to say goodbye. Life is funny, and it may not be a permanent goodbye...more like a see you later. All these “see you later”  events remind me to enjoy life. Enjoy the little things. Our promise is to do more little things. Drink more beers at the canal. Hop on the train and go to Wuxi or Suzhou. I can’t say go to Ellen’s more often. Man, those are too crazy of nights. We are getting too old for that much fun. Haha. See you later Lis! I hope we see you again; preferably in the States. Make your dreams come true at home. #anotheronebitesthe...

May 2018

Hello friends and family! It's officially May. Happy Mothers' Day! Happy Birthday to my brother in law, Neil. It's been warming up here in China. Summer is definitely on its way. We have a feeling it'll be another hot one. We've picked up our Europe research. We have 8 months left on our contract with Shane English School Changzhou.  We've been doing a good job of saving money. We still have a few more grand to save, but are on target to make our goal. This journey has been.....a journey! I wish I could say it was full of enlightenment or we are brand new people. But, the fact is, we are still us. I believe we no longer take many things for granted. As Kristin will point out, Western toliet and toliet paper! haha. Besides the cultural differences,  and being a minority, one thing we appreciate are Teachers. It's a humbling job. A big shout out to all the licensed teachers doing this in the public education system. We never saw ourselves as teacher...

Qing Feng Park

Hello friends, family members, and passerby’s! We got the chance to do a marketing event in Qing Feng Park. It was an hour by bus from our apartment, but it was such a pretty park. You could rent bicycles, rent boats, fly kites in the grass, and even put your toes in the sand. Don’t go overboard, it’s a fake beach. We taught some colors and animals to groups of kids. Some too shy to even look at us. And others with good enough English to ask where we were from and what we were doing. It was a long day. Especially after the 25k the day before. Here’s some pictures. Enjoy. #krisandMatt #changzhouchina #qingfengpark #shaneenglishschool
